Terms and Conditions:

  1. Your use of the LegalLine service and/or your acceptance without modification of any terms, conditions and disclaimers contained herein constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions and disclaimers.
  2. If you do not agree with any of the following terms, conditions and disclaimers then you are not authorised to use the LegalLine service. We may amend this agreement at any time by posting amendments on the website. You should therefore check this agreement on each visit to this site and before each call made to the LegalLine service.
  3. Unless otherwise stated amendments will be effective from the time of posting on this website but will not affect your rights or obligations in respect of any calls to LegalLine you have previously made.
  4. Please be advised that you enter this agreement as it exists at the time of access to this site or at time of making your call to the LegalLine service.
  5. Neither Legal Line Telecoms Ltd. nor its predecessor Capriole Ltd. is responsible for the legal advice or information, whether given correctly or incorrectly by individual Solicitors. Legal Line does not give legal advice. Legal Line simply connects callers to practising Solicitors. The caller is made aware of this stipulation when a call is made into the automated service and the caller is asked to accept this term by a positive telephone key input. The caller accepts this term in its entirety and uses the service with full knowledge of the term.
  6. You may terminate your call to the LegalLine service and therefore this contract at any point before the time of connection to a Solicitor. Once payment confirmation is received we will deliver the service in accordance with the Terms and Conditions contained within this website.
  7. Neither LegalLine, nor any suppliers or affiliates (if any) will be liable to you in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise for any direct, indirect, consequential, special or incidental damage or loss arising from your use of or inability to use the LegalLine website or the LegalLine telephone service, including without limitation loss of business or profits, or anticipated savings, loss or corruption of data, loss caused by a virus, loss or damage to property, claims of third parties, fines or penalties levied by any taxing or other authority or any other loss or damage of any other nature whatsoever.
  8. LegalLine is neither a Solicitor nor a firm of Solicitors. LegalLine is a name of Legal Line Telecoms Limited incorporated in the Republic of Ireland established to provide telephone and email connection to Solicitors who are practising in the Republic of Ireland and who are regulated by The Law Society of Ireland.
  9. LegalLine is a trading name of Legal Line is a trading name of Legal Line Telecoms Limited. Company number 467910 granted a licence by ComReg to operate the LegalLine telephone service in the Republic of Ireland. LegalLine is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Ireland in respect of any legal disputes regarding LegalLine.
  10. LegalLine and related words and logos are the Trade Marks of Legal Line Telecoms Limited. The names of other companies, products or services referred to in this site if any may be the trade marks or trade names of their respective owners. Any unauthorised use of any of these trade marks or trade names is prohibited.
  11. Legal Line Telecoms Limited is the exclusive owner of this website and all copyright, database rights, patent rights and other intellectual property rights relating to this website and the LegalLine telephone service and line(s) pertaining to LegalLine and all content thereon both formats, documents, data, design, text, images, graphics, voiceovers, layout, functioning, software and source code.
  12. All rights to this website and LegalLine telephone line(s) are reserved.
  13. LegalLine must comply with the Data Protection Act 1988 and all subsequent data protection legislation and as such your right to privacy is respected and LegalLine will treat all information relating to you in accordance with the data protection legislation. We will ensure that your personal information is stored securely and we will not provide it to any third parties. By agreeing to this agreement you are consenting to the following:
  14. LegalLine or any parties acting on our behalf must store, host, transfer, and otherwise process your personal information and you explicitly consent us to handling your personal information. 2. Personal information that you supply may include sensitive information relating to religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, union membership or other matters etc and you again explicitly consent to us processing and handling such information accordingly.
  15. You are granted a non-exclusive non transferable licence to search this website and to view download or print out one copy of any freely available page of this website provided you do not remove or modify any copyright, notices, trademarks or other proprietary notices. Grant of licence is subject to the condition of use that you use this website and the LegalLine telephone line(s) strictly in accordance with this agreement and all applicable laws and regulations and lawful purposes.
  16. This site may include hyperlinks to other websites and are provided for your convenience only. We do not endorse any linked sites or accept any responsibility for the content of such sites.
  17. Your use of this website and of the LegalLine service forms the entire agreement between you and Legal Line Telecoms Limited trading as LegalLine in relation to your use of this website and the telephone service and this agreement supersedes any prior representations, inducements or agreements.
  18. Subject to the foregoing, we represent and warrant that we will use reasonable efforts to employ only suitable qualified personnel in the delivery of the LegalLine service and to make available by sub contract the service (where appropriate) to relevant and qualified Solicitors but otherwise expressly disclaim responsibility for any service delivered by a Solicitor or for failure by the Solicitor to deliver correct and or adequate expertise.


How LegalLine Works:

  1. The service is only available to users of 18 years and over.
  2. Calls to any of the Legal Line 1890 debit or credit card numbers cost €42.00 incl. Vat per block of fifteen minutes. Calls to our Premium Rate Numbers cost €2.90 per minute. Our SMS 57599 subscription service costs €5.00 per week. Calls on our debit or credit card subscription service cost €29.00 per month.
  3. LegalLine is not responsible for the information given by individual solicitors. LegalLine Solicitors are not employees of LegalLine. Where information requires individual interpretation, the caller is advised to consult a suitably qualified legal practitioner outside the remit of LegalLine.
  4. Callers will be connected to independent Solicitors who are responsible for ensuring their professional indemnity insurance and current Law Society practising certificates are in place. LegalLine is not responsible to ensure that Solicitors have adequate professional indemnity insurance and/or a current valid practising certificate however LegalLine will require a document and a certified copy of the current practising certificate before a Solicitor can be admitted onto the LegalLine panel of Solicitors.
  5. If you are not the legal owner of the laser/debit or credit card required to use LegalLine then this service is not suitable to you. If using the premium rate services please obtain the consent of the bill payer before use.
  6. Calls to LegalLine may appear on your laser/debit or credit card statement and/or your bank statement. Calls to premium rate numbers may appear on the relevant telephone bill.
  7. In the event of any difficulties with the service please email us on or telephone LegalLine customer care 1890 943 443 between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you have a complaint the original telephone bill or laser/debit or credit card statement showing details of the call to LegalLine must be made available to LegalLine.

Definitions:

"You" means the legal person entering this agreement (whether an individual, a company or any other legal entity) and includes anyone reasonably appearing to us to be acting with your authority or permission.

"We/us" means Legal Line Telecoms Limited trading as LegalLine.

"Services" means the provision of telephone legal information on a per call basis or as an employee or member benefit or otherwise and all or any other services as may appear on the Legal Line website.

"Solicitor" means a Solicitor regulated by the Law Society of Ireland who is not an employee of LegalLine but has made himself/herself available to accept Legal Line call referrals.
